Coffee Influence

Every month, I introduce people to specialty coffee for the first time. I have the privilege of sharing the “wow” moment with people who didn’t know that coffee could taste like an actual fruit. That it can be complex. And, best of all, learn about how to make their coffee a little bit better at home.

purchasing decisions

  • Business Contacts

Through my monthly coffee club, I have become the go-to for coffee purchases for local business owners. From pubs to boutiques, cafes to chiropractors, business owners call me when they need advice. These relationships were forged and deepened through sharing coffee club with local business owners (who got a free client appreciation event out of the deal).

  • Personal Recs

I get a text at least once a week from friends, family and even old acquaintances about coffee purchases. Baratza Encore/Virtuoso, Breville Barista Express and Fellow Ode have been some of my strongest recommendations, and I can’t count how many people I’ve helped to make their next coffee purchase based on my experience with the equipment and with the company’s customer care.

  • Online Influence

The audience is small but extremely engaged. If I post about a piece of gear, or if I post a photo with a new piece of gear, I will receive tons of questions about it (for weeks-months). People want better coffee at home, and there is a small and committed group who look to my recommendations for those purchases.

  • Gear Testing & Feedback

Some of my favorite coffee experiences of the past 6 years have been buying and testing gear. I’ve found that small observations go a long way with equipment manufacturers, and I LOVE providing feedback to companies who make great products when they’re interested. I’m no espresso tech, but I am a very good parameter for UI testing. If I can’t figure a machine out easily, most of your customers won’t be able to either.

  • Mobile Business

Owning a mobile coffee catering company allows us to give drive by coffee brewing tips multiple times per month (beyond coffee club). Without fail, after pouring a beautiful rosetta, I am given “expert” status to many people, and that translates to questions about coffee brewing. I still get messages from people who were guests at one of our espresso bar events and they have at-home brewing questions. Many of those events were over a year ago.

  • Training Classes

We offer private coffee classes to people who want to create a fun experience for a group of friends or co-workers. This is the most intense influence that I have have on a small group of people. ANY gear that I use in these classes gets a thorough review because the students can’t help but ask questions about gear. Without fail, there is at least 1 coffee equipment purchase made by students from every class that we’ve hosted. These classes are a part of our mobile coffee business’ offerings.
